Here’s an insight into our own renovations.
We are a family of 6 (sometimes 7 when our adult boarder comes to stay) and we have never had enough room in our kitchen to lay out 6/7 plates at once. There’s always been a dish drainer, toaster/kettle, chopping board or lunch boxes from the school day in the way. When we moved in we had to remove cabinets to fit the fridge and get a set of draws to sit the microwave on. The Kitchen was driving us all crazy.
It took two years but finally we ripped it out -
Design decisions were made July 2021
Splash Back Tiles, Tapware, Bath tubs, Kettles and Sinks where purchased
Blue colour paint samples were brought and put around the space ( We’re up to 6 different blues at the moment)
Layouts were painted on the vinal floor to confirm enough walking and working space (much to Simons detest)
Plans were drawn September 2021
Board and Hardware was ordered November 2021
Demo started 27th December 2021
The build and part install started in 2022 - First week of Jan (Simon had no Christmas Break)
Once the garage wall came down Mrs Spud had a thought and looked at Simon.
No! was his response before any words even came out.
Planes were RE-Drawn and the butlers pantry was extended further into the garage space.
February came along and we pick up new board from our suppliers and start the install of the (larger) butlers pantry and extra extension to the main kitchen.
We’ve also been busy tiling our whole house as well
Bench tops have been delayed, but we had one benchtop installed so we could connect our cooktop and oven - Mentel Note; Don’t buy Stone that needs a water jet to cut it.
In the meantime, we’ve gutted our Master bedroom, Walk in Robe and Ensuite and started to complete that project. At the moment we’re not sure which reno will get finished first. ha ha
We can’t wait to show everyone our new kitchen and all its Fancy Hardware, PITT Cookers, Concealed Cabinets and Stone Tops.
Hopefully its not tooo much longer until we have finished Photos to add to this page or an actual working kitchen to walk you through in person.
